Man Arrested for Suspected Marijuana DUI After Running Over Motorcyclist

On September 8, a driver in Seattle was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana after he allegedly ran over a motorcyclist and trapped the victim under his vehicle.

Around 1:00 pm, the driver struck a 30-year-old motorcyclist near the intersection of MLK Jr. Way South and East Pike Street. The motorcyclist became trapped underneath of the vehicle, and the Seattle fire department was called to extricate the victim. The victim was then transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police were forced to close down East Pike Street between 27th Avenue and 29th Avenue as a result of the accident. Seattle police officers continue to investigate the accident.

The driver was arrested for DUI, and police suspected that the man was high on marijuana. The driver was to undergo a blood test to determine whether he was under the influence of marijuana or any other intoxicants.
