Teen Girl Arrested on Suspicion of DUI After Eluding Police

Teenage Girl Arrested

Early on the morning of November 15, 2019, a trooper spotted a dark-colored SUV speeding down 112th Street South near 9th Ave. Cr. South. The trooper tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver kept going.

During the chase, the driver reached speeds of up to 100 mph. Eventually, another trooper laid down spike strips, which popped the SUV’s tires. The driver skidded and crashed near the South Hill Mall.

With their vehicle out of commission, the driver, along with a passenger, got out and attempted to flee on foot. Eventually, troopers apprehended both.

The driver and passenger of the SUV were both 14-year-old females. The passenger was reported a missing juvenile and was released to her mother.

However, the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. In Washington, a person under 21 years of age faces charges for a minor DUI if they are caught driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.02 or higher or with a THC level of 0.00.

Additionally, because she tried to flee from troopers, the driver is also facing felony charges for eluding police.
