dui crash

A 42-year-old Kirkland man has been arrested and is being held on $100,000 bail for allegedly being involved in a street racing accident that took the life of a 30-year-old Auburn man.

The two men were traveling south down I-405 near Bothell when they crashed. K. Vaughn was on his motorcycle and J. Woodruff was in a car. The collision took the life of the motorcyclist.

The accident happened on Thursday, September 19, 2019. Troopers say that street racing and intoxication may have played a part in causing the collision. They reported that Woodruff appeared to be under the influence of alcohol when they arrived on the scene.

Woodruff had been previously convicted of a DUI. He had also been cited for failing to install an ignition interlock device on his vehicle.

Vaughn’s brother appeared at court for Woodruff’s hearing. He said that his brother had made some mistakes in the past, but he was turning his life around. Vaughn leaves behind two sons.
